Rue Leaf Desert Bloom Variscite Rainbow Moonstone Chrysoprase Statement Necklace
If you love the shape of rue, as I do, this piece has a soothing feeling. This might have been why I was drawn to soothing stones. In the middle is a piece of high grade Dessert Bloom variscite. It is a piece I held onto for quite a while, specifically because it spoke to my soul. A beautiful turquoise, a hair more on the green side, with the quintessential black halo around the variscite, creating the "bloom" effect. Dessert bloom of this quality is not easy to come by. And the stone was cut perfectly to showcase the stone's variegation. Next are vibrantly flashy rainbow moonstone. Both appear blue and have wonderful blue flash, as you can see (especially in the photos on the bust!), but they also have a bit of true rainbow in them when you look close in the light. Finally, two beautiful chrysoprase with a rose cut hang in the higher reaches. They complement the piece without showing up the moonstone or variscite.
This necklace represents the incorporation of new and old elements and design. New rue shapes were selected from the rue I grow in my garden, which means they will seem different, as past rue was typically more spread out. Don't you just love how even a single type of plant can have so much variability? Me too! The piece sits beautifully on the chest, and can rest high or low and still look stunning. Though I typically do not use attachments in this way, some of my earlier rue necklaces and pieces were attached with the rope style wire. It adds to the flow of the overall piece.
19.5" necklace length (the center stone and leaves are fixed horizontally- this will mean the necklace will sit higher than this length) with an additional 4.25" extension (part of which is the handmade rue leaf dangle). If you would like the necklace length reduced or the extension chain removed, please make a note at checkout. Any alterations cannot be "undone" once completed, so please be sure to ask any necessary questions prior to purchase.
Note: If you are rough on your jewelry, you will want to treat this with gentle care. While sturdy, elements should never been twisted, torqued, bent, or pulled/yanked.
All of my work, unless copper or brass (you'd see the difference), is 0.925 sterling silver.
Please review shipping and return policies prior to purchase (see link at the top of the page).
US Domestic shipping prices on purchases over $100 include USPS shipping and insurance. International buyers who wish for insured postage are welcome to ask and I can obtain pricing through UPS; you would pay the additional charges. UPS across waters (i.e. not in Canada) are quite high with insurance, but I understand shipping during covid has made many of us nervous.
